About The Position

Aetna Resources, LLC., a CVS Health company, is hiring for the following role in Woonsocket, RI: Actuarial Analyst to support actuarial functions by applying quantitative skills and analytical methods to well defined projects. Develop quantitative techniques to inform pricing and valuation for assigned projects, large group customers, and overall financial portfolio. Apply mathematical and statistical methods to analyze data for use in studies, valuation, and pricing projects in support of the business. Work and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Underwriting, Sales, and Accounts on large, complex new business and renewal cases. Leverage Excel, SAS, and other technical options to efficiently complete projects. Demonstrate spreadsheeting proficiency and familiarity with database and web-based applications. Complete studies used for assumption setting in pricing model and maintain financial analytic models. Contribute to product development and re-pricing initiatives and apply knowledge of current pricing models and risk management practices. Work on special projects that require actuarial research and analysis in partnership with business teams both in and out of finance and provide support for understanding case specific underwriting issues. Develop experience analysis reviews, produce summary reports of financial results and communicate results, trends, and issues to management along with proactive recommendations. Continuously build specialized knowledge of company operations and systems, and the actuarial discipline. Continually assess established training and work processes to identify areas for improved effectiveness and efficiency. Take ownership of assigned projects and/or models/tools. Raise issues and propose suggestions as appropriate. Provide input into decision making process. Demonstrate basic understanding and working knowledge of internal data sources. Develop creative technical solutions to a variety of problems. Support development and implementation of appropriate tools and models. Support maintenance and development of enhancements to processes, tools, and make suggestions to maximize efficiency. Participate in development and finalization of business requirements and/or specifications for processes, tools, and systems. Participate in testing of changes to processes, tools, and systems. Participate in multi-functional workgroups. Respond to routine inquiries from internal constituents in a clear and professional manner. Create and maintain accurate documentation of tools and processes. Telecommuting available. Multiple positions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Economics or related field
  • Six (6) months of experience in Excel
  • Six (6) months of experience in SAS or SQL programming
  • Completion of three (3) Actuarial Exams recognized by the Society of Actuaries (SOA)
