The role will contribute to pricing, reserving, forecasting, and strategic decision-making by leveraging actuarial methods and statistical tools. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of actuarial or related analytical experience preferred.
  • Progress toward actuarial designation (e.g., ASA or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel and at least one actuarial/statistical tool such as R, Python, SQL, or SAS, with a strong desire to improve algorithmic approaches.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work under deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of insurance products and actuarial techniques in P&C specialty commercial national accounts.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, assess risk, and support actuarial assumptions.
  • Develop and maintain actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and forecasting.
  • Execute individual account pricing and Managing General Agent delegated authority reviews.
  • Support pricing and rate change studies, rate filings, and profitability analyses, and/or reserving, financial planning and risk modelling.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, finance, and product teams to provide actuarial insight.
  • Automate and streamline reporting processes and data workflows, including developing our corporate data bases.
  • Develop predictive claims and pricing models to improve pricing, claims management, and to generate business insights.
  • Prepare and present findings to actuarial and business leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
