About The Position

The Actuarial Development Program (ADP) at Lincoln Financial Group is an industry-leading program designed to cultivate highly qualified business leaders. As an ADP participant, you will explore your interests while developing essential actuarial, technical, management, communication, and leadership skills. The program includes a series of rotations, typically every 18-24 months, in different business areas such as Life and Annuities, Retirement, and Group Protection. The experience gained will help participants become well-rounded actuaries with knowledge in areas like Product Development, Pricing, Reinsurance, Inforce Management, Valuation, Financial Projections, Risk Management, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Strategy & Management, Appointed Actuary, Experience Studies, Modeling, Data Analytics, and Actuarial Transformation. ADP participants are expected to pass the Society of Actuaries’ exams at a prescribed pace, and the program provides support, training, and resources to help you become a well-rounded actuarial leader working towards your FSA. This specific role is for an Actuarial Analyst II within Traditional Life Valuation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 actuarial exams passed
  • 1 to 4+ years of actuarial experience
  • 1 prior actuarial rotation
  • Strong technical skills
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new skills and information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Products
  • Attention to detail and ability to check your own work.
  • Organized, with a respect for deadlines (especially during Quarter End months)
  • Strong in execution; with ability to follow procedures and update documentation where/when needed.
  • Team player with strong relationship and communication skills

  • Product knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Quarter End & Year End financial reporting of Traditional Life reserves and analysis of the results.
  • Process improvement: identify, implement, and document improvements to quarter end and year end processes.
  • Documentation: Maintain and improve current process documentation, with the goal of training and passing off responsibilities to a successor upon rotation.
  • Ad hoc Analysis: investigation into financial items requested by upper management.
  • Development Opportunities: Exposure to actuarial software (i.e. Triton) and other useful programs (i.e. SQL Server, Tableau, Tableau Prep, etc.). Gain industry knowledge of financial reporting and regulations (i.e. LDTI, PBR, etc.). There are several projects on the horizon that can develop various skills important to an actuary. This role has the unique opportunity of increased exposure to the work of a Life Valuation Actuary, as the student will have different responsibilities in each of the two years on the team.
