About The Position

Develop and maintain specialized databases, programs and other software tools to support various actuarial activities. Complete less complex projects and assist higher level actuarial analysts with the development and enhancement of complex spreadsheets and other projects. Further develop actuarial knowledge and skills by passing SOA actuarial exams.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with PC Windows-based software, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet applications and computer programming
  • Understanding of data requirements for product maintenance activities
  • Proficiency with SAS, Visual Basic, Macros or SQL
  • Shows initiative, such as addressing problems when needed
  • Demonstrates ownership of projects and work product
  • Good planning and organizational skills, including management of multiple assignments
  • Good judgment, problem-solving, analytical and interpretative skills
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and time constraints
  • Bachelor’s Degree From Four-Year College or University in mathematics, computer science, actuarial science or related technical field
  • 1 year up to 3 years work experience
  • One SOA exam pass
