About The Position

The Horsham Clinic is seeking a dynamic and talented Activity Therapist to join their team. The Horsham Clinic is a private behavioral healthcare facility serving children, adolescents, adults, and their families. The Activity Therapist will provide a variety of group therapies consistent with the clinical needs of the population and the philosophy and objectives of The Horsham Clinic. This role involves providing trauma-informed group therapy and psycho-education rooted in the dialectical behavior therapy model, leading skills training groups, process groups, and/or expressive therapy groups. The goal is to help patients learn and demonstrate healthy adaptive skills. The position requires certification in Creative Arts Therapies (Music, Dance/Movement and/or Drama).

Requirements

  • Exposure to psychiatric patients (adults, adolescents and dual diagnosed patients).
  • General hospital environment.
  • Experience in Group Therapy required.
  • Masters Degree/certification in creative arts therapies (music, dance/movement and/or drama).
  • Licenses Certifications: CTRS, MT-BC, RDT, R-DMT, LPC.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of behavioral mental health, nursing clinical practices, and management.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.
  • Highly Developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others activities with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 or more years of progressive experience in behavioral health setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a variety of group therapies consistent with the clinical needs of the population and the philosophy and objectives of The Horsham Clinic.
  • Provide trauma-informed group therapy and psycho-education routed in the dialectical behavior therapy model.
  • Lead a variety of skills training groups, process and/or expressive Therapy groups designed to meet the individualized needs of the population served.
  • Provide a variety of opportunities for patients to learn and demonstrate healthy adaptive skills.
