About The Position

Mayo Clinic is seeking an Activity Therapist to join their Psychiatry and Psychology team. This role functions as an interdisciplinary team member, responsible for coordinating, planning, delivering, and documenting quality activity therapy programming services to patients. The therapist will work with patients individually and in groups, participating in unit, day, evening, weekend, and holiday activities. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in allied health or related field.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Knowledge of activity therapy skills to include music, recreation, art/creative therapies.
• Ability to effectively use activity therapy skills with patients.
• Flexibility of work schedule, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Basic computer skills.
• Leadership, problem solving, and team building skills.
• Knowledge of basic improvement concepts and techniques.

Nice To Haves

• Recreation, art, and/or music therapy experience.
• Previous work experience/internship in behavioral health/chemical dependency.

Responsibilities
