Under the direction of the Activity Coordinator and program Chief, this role conducts activities for patients. The position involves establishing and maintaining positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees, interacting professionally and courteously. It also requires contributing to and participating in Performance/Quality Improvement activities, including data collection, analysis, and adherence to safety and infection control policies. The role involves running effective Activity Therapy groups, providing therapeutic one-to-one patient contact, and transmitting information clearly and timely to charts. Maintaining current knowledge of therapeutic techniques, assisting in organizing equipment and supplies, and communicating effectively with the multi-disciplinary team are also key aspects. The position also involves utilizing feedback to improve work performance and supervising students when assigned.
