About The Position

Join our team as an Activity Specialist and inspire young minds at camp! Are you ready for an unforgettable summer adventure? At ESF (Education, Sports, Fun) Camps, we are on a mission to create an extraordinary summer experience for campers from preschool to 8th grade, and we are looking for energetic, passionate people to join us and make a positive impact while having a blast! At ESF, an Activity Leader is called a True-Life Adventure Specialist and leads various weekly specialty activities in our Senior Camp (3rd - 8th grades). Full curriculum and supplies provided. Topics include art, photography, cooking, and STEM challenges. Candidates should be comfortable teaching different topics each week. Specific topics may vary by camp location.

Requirements

• Preferably possess a background in activities related to teambuilding, leadership, group games, and team challenges.
• Topics include art, photography, cooking, and STEM challenges.

• College graduate working in an education/child-related career.
• Teaching certification or equivalent experience required.
• Experience teaching and working with children.
• Prior classroom teaching/fieldwork experience (2-4 years)
• Previous experience working with students in Elementary or Secondary grade levels
• Complete all required ESF and state-mandated training and onboarding.
• Maintain the "ESF Look" (camp uniform) and embody the spirit of the camp.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with children in a camp setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement ESF curriculum.
• Actively engage campers, offer support, and provide guidance to bring lesson plans to life.
• Promote and lead daily activities and projects with enthusiasm, collaborating effectively with counselors and fellow instructors.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of campers with an emphasis on positive behavior and effective group management.
• Promptly report any concerns to the Site Director.
• Supervise campers, while fostering a positive and safe environment.
• Demonstrate ESF Core Values & Code daily, from “Gratitude” to “Bring It” daily.
• Model the ESF Virtues of Character (Gratitude, Respect, Trustworthiness, Effort, Kindness, Positivity, Resilience, Community) in camp daily.
• Adhere to all company policies.
• Maintain clear, concise, and engaging communication with campers, families, peers, and our leadership team.
• Directly report to and take guidance from the Camp Director, with additional accountability to the Site Director.
