We're looking for a Dance Activity Specialist to bring movement, music, and creativity into the lives of young people across NYC. Whether you've performed on stage, taught a studio class, danced with a crew, or grown-up choreographing routines in your living room, if dance is your thing and you know how to inspire kids, we want to hear from you! Requirements

  • 2+ years of dance experience, performing, teaching, competing, or coaching (formal training is great, but lived experience counts too!)
  • Experience working with kids or youth and ability to lead a room of elementary, middle, or high schoolers.
  • Ability to be a natural motivator who can turn a shy first-timer into a confident performer.
  • Organized, dependable, and able to juggle priorities without missing a beat.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage your own schedule and deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead project-based dance programming that gets kids moving and growing.
  • Build fun, age-appropriate dance lessons across styles such as hip-hop, ballet, contemporary, Afro-Caribbean, jazz, K-pop.
  • Choreograph routines and prep participants for showcases, performances, and culminating events.
  • Partner with site leadership to shape standout youth development programming.
  • Build real relationships with participants, their families, and school staff.
  • Bring the encouragement, energy, and resources kids need to shine.
  • Handle behind-the-scenes organization such as paperwork, materials prep, and timely program documentation.
