About The Position

We are looking for an Activity Program Director/Recreation Director to join our team. As an Activity Program Director/Recreation Director, you will be responsible for developing, planning, organizing, and directing the implementation of activity/recreation programs. These programs must align with current state and federal guidelines and regulations, as well as Company policies and procedures. The programs are designed based on comprehensive resident assessments, considering their interests and their physical, mental, spiritual, and psychosocial well-being.

Requirements

  • An active and valid license as an Art Therapist, Music Therapist, Dance Therapist, Recreation Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state OR completed a state approved training course.
  • Within the last 5 years, must have 2+ years’ experience in a social or recreational program, with at least 1 year of full-time commitment in a mental health/behavioral health setting.
  • Flexible with the ability to adapt to change.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language sufficiently to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing practices, procedures, terminology, laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college
  • Certification or training in therapeutic recreation
  • Supervisory experience
  • Previous experience in Skilled Nursing environment

Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, organize, and direct the implementation of activity/recreation programs in accordance with current state and federal guidelines and regulations, and Company policies and procedures.
  • Design programs in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental, spiritual and psychosocial well-being of each resident.
