About The Position

St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care is a unique facility specializing in comprehensive intergenerational care for all ages and abilities, bringing together individuals from 6 weeks old to 100+. The organization is a leader in adult and child daycare services, providing a safe, homelike setting where compassion, care, and dignity are paramount. Having grown significantly over four decades, St. Ann Center is seeking to expand its team to further its mission and operational effectiveness in serving the community. The Activities Coordinator will play a key role in planning, implementing, and coordinating intergenerational activities, particularly within the specialized Alzheimer’s and Dementia care unit known as Shepherd House.

Requirements

  • BA or COTA & OTR training in a related geriatric setting or qualifying experience with frail older adults.
  • CPR training.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong verbal skills.
  • Neat and clean appearance.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility with time, tasks, and interpersonal relations.
  • Ability to work with a variety of ages.
  • Ability to perform work duties with minimal supervision.
  • Must follow all Policies and Procedures of St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and coordinate activities for adult day care participants.
  • Coordinate intergenerational activities with other staff members.
  • Provide outings for day care participants.
  • Attend professional conferences and meetings related to therapeutic activities.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and quarterly all staff meetings.
  • Mentor, supervise, and evaluate students participating as aides, volunteers, community service, or college interns.
  • Interact with the Volunteer Coordinator to arrange volunteers for outings and activities such as crafts.
  • Plan, print, and distribute the activity calendar each month.
  • Arrange in-house entertainers and presentations for adults and submit requisitions for payment in a timely manner.
  • Organize and maintain equipment, supplies, and stage areas.
  • Organize and maintain online and paper files of references and resource materials.
  • Shop for or order supplies and equipment for activities when needed.
  • Submit receipts and requisitions in a timely manner to respective business offices and keep records for the cost of supplies and incidentals.
  • Provide occupational evaluations of client activity abilities.
  • Communicate or publicize information about events and activities of interest to other departments as appropriate.
  • Plan variations in activities to provide options to clientele with adaptations to accommodate special needs.
  • Assist in transporting clients as needed.
  • Assist with dinner duty as necessary.
  • Perform other duties requested by the Director of Adult Day Services.
  • Demonstrate professional interpersonal skills at all times when representing St. Ann Center.
  • Be resourceful and creative in activity planning and use of materials.
