About The Position

Laurel Parc, a beautiful senior living community just north of the Beaverton/Hillsboro area seeks an Activities Coordinator to join the Administrative team! This position will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the recreation program for the residents within the community.

Requirements

  • Experience in senior living activities is a requirement for this position
  • Minimum of two years related experience (i.e. experience evaluating, planning and developing initiatives for a wellness or activities program)
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and other applicable software
  • All team members must have the basic ability to use computer/smart phone applications for training and company system purposes.
  • Employees must also be able to comprehend written documents such as work orders, safety rules, instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Also required is the ability of employees to speak and communicate effectively with clients, coworkers and management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a program that exercises body and mind for our residents
  • Maintain contact and positive relationships with volunteers, contractors and vendors (teachers, speakers, group leaders, etc.)
  • Create readable and compelling monthly newsletter and calendar of events
  • Stay current of research and best practices in senior care as it relates to activities and services
  • Perform other duties as assigned
