About The Position

Citizens Memorial Hospital is hiring an Activity Assistant for its Activities Department at Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility in Stockton, Missouri. The facility is a 90-bed long-term skilled nursing facility, including a 30-bed memory care unit serving individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The position is per requested need, with day shifts and hours that vary.

The Activity Assistant facilitates resident activities, records residents’ attendance and participation, coordinates volunteers and entertainment, leads activities assigned by the Director of Activities, and helps residents get to and from activities as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Communication skills.
• Outgoing and creative disposition.
• Computer skills.
• Ability to stand for 60% of the day and sit with residents for the remaining 40%.
• Obtain full CPR certification within six months of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Education beyond the required high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Long-term care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Document daily attendance and participation for each resident.
• Facilitate resident activities throughout the day.
• Contact volunteers and arrange entertainment.
• Lead activities assigned by the Director of Activities.
• Assist residents to and from activities as needed.
