About The Position

The Activity Assistant supports engaging programs that meet residents’ social, emotional, spiritual, recreational, and leisure needs. The role helps bring joy, connection, and purpose to residents’ days while promoting dignity, independence, and well-being. The position works with the Activities Director and interdisciplinary team at Westgate Nursing, Rehabilitation & Assisted Living Community in Ironwood, Michigan.

Requirements

• Ability to engage residents with enthusiasm and creativity.
• Excellent attendance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing, planning, implementing, and evaluating activity programs.
• Support the execution of the daily and monthly activity calendar.
• Engage residents in group and individual activities.
• Help meet residents’ spiritual, emotional, recreational, leisure, and social needs.
• Encourage participation while promoting residents’ dignity, independence, and well-being.
• Collaborate with the Activities Director and interdisciplinary team.
