About The Position

The Activity Assistant / Coordinator supports the Life Enrichment or Activities program by assisting with group and individual activities designed to enhance residents’ physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being. This role works collaboratively with the care team to ensure activities are meaningful, inclusive, and person-centered. Americare Senior Living is seeking an energetic and compassionate Activity Assistant / Activity Coordinator to support resident engagement within our skilled nursing community. In this role, you’ll assist with planning, organizing, and leading recreational and therapeutic activity programs that promote socialization, independence, and overall quality of life. Activities are delivered in accordance with individualized resident capabilities, needs, and interests while meeting applicable state and federal guidelines. This role may also be known as: Activity Assistant, Activities Coordinator, Life Enrichment Assistant, or Recreation Aide.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company requirements for transporting residents
  • Compassionate, creative, and resident-focused approach

  • Additional education related to activities, recreation, or life enrichment preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, organizing, facilitating, and directing recreational activity programs
  • Support resident engagement through group and one-on-one activities
  • Adapt activities to meet individual resident abilities, interests, and care plans
  • Encourage resident participation and social interaction
  • Assist with special events, celebrations, and community outings
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members
  • Maintain documentation related to resident participation as required
