The Activity Assistant at White Oaks at Spring Street is responsible for planning, coordinating, and documenting resident activities. This includes driving a company van for organized outings, interviewing residents upon admission to understand their preferences, and documenting their daily participation in activities. The role also involves managing an inventory of activity equipment and supplies, evaluating the effectiveness of the activity program, and modifying it as needed to meet resident interests. The assistant will plan and coordinate the Community newsletter, work with the resident council for input, and coordinate shopping orders for residents who cannot shop independently. A key aspect of the position is engaging with residents compassionately to cultivate a warm and supportive environment, reflecting values of love, compassion, and dignity. Continuous learning and development through educational seminars, staff meetings, and other experiences are also expected.
