About The Position

Tel Hai is a nonprofit retirement community in Honey Brook, PA and a Certified "Great Place to Work!" They offer a vibrant, caring community with a long-standing reputation of providing exemplary service and care to their Residents as well as endless rewards to their team members. This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm, with every third weekend and holiday required. The Activity Assistant will join the Lakeview Personal Care team in meeting the social and recreational needs of the residents.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to speak in front of/lead activities of large groups.
Previous experience working with seniors.
Current driver's license in good standing for at least the past 3 years, and willingness and ability to drive small bus to transport residents safely on outings, required.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience with individuals that have cognitive deficits (such as dementia) is preferred.
Music, art, fitness, educational, or activity experience preferred.
CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or must be willing to get with our assistance.)

Responsibilities

Helps meet the social and recreational needs of the residents by leading activities such as games, bingo, book club, light exercise, etc.
Provides activities for physical, intellectual, social, emotional, spiritual, and vocational wellness to maintain health.
Plans country rides and bus trips to local spots (stores, restaurants, ice cream shops, parks, etc.); drives small bus on outings.
Helps in the planning of the monthly calendar of activities.
Assists with care for department pets as needed.
Provides assistance to residents at meals by serving coffee and tea, cutting of food, storing of walkers, and procuring of services of waitstaff.
Provide proper hydration.
Makes activity schedule announcements and other announcements as requested.
