About The Position

The Activity Assistant works with the Engagement Director to make residents' lives more enjoyable through fun and engaging activities. This role involves creating experiences that cater to residents' physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being, making the community vibrant and lively. The Engagement Team brings purpose and joy to the community, measuring success in the smiles created.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must have memory care experience.
Love connecting with seniors and naturally get along with them.
Be creative and able to plan and lead activities that suit different interests and abilities.
Organize things well and pay attention to details.
Communicate effectively and be kind.
Be flexible to work different shifts, including weekends and evenings.
Know basic computer skills for documenting and communicating.
Criminal Background Screening is required.
All candidates will be required to show valid proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 before commencing work or commit to obtaining full vaccination within 30 days of commencing work, unless they receive an approved exemption.

Nice To Haves

Some classes in recreation, gerontology, or related areas are a plus.

Responsibilities

Work with the Engagement Director to plan and run a variety of activities, such as exercise programs, interesting sessions, art projects, trips, spiritual gatherings, and events with speakers and music.
Connect with residents personally, understanding their preferences and needs to ensure activities are enjoyable and meaningful.
Help plan trips outside the community, organize details, and ensure residents are safe and happy.
Create a warm and inclusive environment where residents can make friends and discover new interests.
Keep records of resident participation and feedback to help improve programs.
Share creative ideas to keep programs exciting and in line with senior preferences.
