About The Position

NHC Healthcare Lexington is seeking an Activity Assistant II to join their team. This role involves assisting in providing therapeutic programs tailored to each patient's individual needs, fostering an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors, demonstrating compassion, care, and creativity. Knowledge of the domains of wellness and their application to long-term care programming is essential. The primary goal is to enhance residents' quality of life through meaningful daily activities.

Requirements

  • Must have experience in MDS 3.0, care planning and documentation
  • Must be able to work with family members, partners, and the community
  • Must have High School Diploma or GED.
  • Qualified recreation specialist for activities professional who is eligible for certification by a recognized body or two years’ experience in a social or recreational program with the last five years (one of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting), OR has completed a training course approved by the state

Responsibilities

  • Assessing patients to determine activity interest and needs
  • Provide therapeutic activities which meet the individual interest and needs
  • Provide activities which meet the physical, social, mental, emotional, and/or spiritual needs of patients while providing an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment
  • Maintain all required records
  • Maintain good public relations with the community by contacting and informing local clubs, businesses, schools, etc. of center services and goals
  • Attending center meetings as required
  • Be aware of the NHC standards and abide by the Better Way promises
  • Be aware of and follow all state, federal, company and center policies and procedures
  • Be aware of and follow HIPAA regulations
