About The Position

Albany Care, a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility in Evanston, IL, is in need of Upbeat, Friendly, Compassionate Activity Aides. $19.50 per hour! Available Positions: Full-time 8a-4p Full-time 11a-7p If you love to bring people joy through all forms of creative interaction, you believe in the dignity of residents and always strive to interact with them in a manner that conveys kindness, warmth and respect, and you are considering a career in the mental health field and want first-hand experience in the setting, then this job is for you!

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Valid Driver's License
• Demonstrate adequate English oral and written skills; bi-lingual a plus
• Must be highly organized, take initiative, think creatively and communicate well with others
• Must have compassion, tolerance and understanding of the consumers
• Considerate, pleasant and professional in the performance of duties and interactions with other staff and consumers

Responsibilities

• Planning, organizing and leading activities in the facility and on community outings under the direction of the Activities Director.
• Participate in community planning related to the interests and needs of the consumer and family
• Assist the Activities Director in carrying out the plan of care for each consumer
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive, calm environment
• Record consumers' participation in daily activities and chart their progress
• Assist with recreational activities, arts and crafts, religious and community activities, service activities, intellectual and educational activities
