About The Position

Betsy Ross Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Full-Time Activity Aide to conduct activity programs to meet the needs of the patients/residents. This role involves working with residents, staff, family members, volunteers, and community groups, and requires adherence to facility safety policies and procedures. The position hours are Monday – Friday, 8am - 4pm with some weekend and holiday coverage required.

Requirements

• High School Graduate and a concerned interest in the field OR A concerned interest in the field
• Appropriate dress attire, including maroon jacket required. No jeans or shorts permitted. Fingernails must be kept short and neat.

Responsibilities

• Conducts activity programs to meet the needs of the patients/residents under the supervision of the Director of Activities.
• Ascertains from appropriate professional staff, those patients/residents who are available and able to be in the activities programs.
• Maintains knowledge of proper use and storage of equipment.
• Assists in the purchasing of supplies when necessary.
• Attends and participates in facility’s staff education.
• Assists in the clerical functioning of the activities department, including letters, filing, and other clerical work.
• Assists in transporting patients/residents to and from activity programs.
• Works with volunteers on activity programs.
• Keeps records of patients’/residents’ participation and in what activity.
• Keeps other records as necessary.
• Performs appropriate resident charting.
• Informs Director of Activities of any problems or concerns encountered.
• Provides assistance with other work in the activities department to ensure the highest level of resident care.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment for residents and nursing staff.
• Adheres to fire plan, disaster plan and other safety plans established.
• Performs procedures in a safe and therapeutic manner.
• Utilizes protective equipment as indicated per facility policy and protocol and Safety Data Sheets.
