The Activity Aide provides quality support and care for individuals attending the Adult Day Programs by implementing planned program of activities within the framework of continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), VON philosophy, policies and procedures, standards and applicable legislation. This role contributes to the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of service plans for clients, collaborating with recreational therapists and program coordinators to plan and implement social and recreational programs. The aide participates in group activities to stimulate clients' mobility, language, reminiscing, group identity, and listening skills, and assists clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as toileting, personal hygiene, and medication assistance. The position also involves collaborating with the team to identify risk factors and introduce interventions to minimize and eliminate client incidents, ensuring safety and security for clients, volunteers, and staff, and utilizing volunteers' talents within the program. Additionally, the aide promotes VON's goals and values, ensures a safe and healthy workplace, abides by all VON policies and confidentiality practices, and works collaboratively in a team approach to service delivery.
