About The Position
West Oaks Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Activity Aide/Coordinator to join their team. This role assists the Recreation Therapist and Director of Recreation Therapy in designing and implementing therapeutic recreation services to enhance patients' physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being. The position involves coordinating various recreational programs such as entertainment, exercise, relaxation, expression, music, and art.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- CPR and hospital de-escalation certifications.
- One year of experience in program specialty.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation, or related field.
- One year in experience in program specialty in a healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Assists recreation therapy department in hospital wide special events.
- Works with treatment team to develop a structured curriculum adaptable to various cultural background, heritage, and identity of patients.
- Maintains recreational areas and equipment.
- Completes documentation accurately and timely.
- Maintains observation of patients and shares appropriate information with manager.
- Maintains a clean, sanitary, safe environment.
- Other duties as assigned
