Activity / Activities Aide - Full Time Day Shift
About The Position
The Terrace is a skilled nursing facility that provides care for older adults, including those recovering from surgery or illness, and long-term residents with Alzheimer’s or memory loss. The facility emphasizes creating a supportive and dignified environment where every team member contributes to the well-being of residents. The Activity Aide role focuses on the emotional well-being of residents by involving them in a therapeutic engagement program. This includes leading life enrichment activities and a variety of entertainment options to help keep them engaged in their recovery programs, bringing joy, structure, and stimulation to those in their care.
Requirements
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- If assigned transport (driving) responsibilities, must maintain a valid driver’s license and meet the organization’s motor vehicle record and insurance eligibility requirements
- Strong background in sports, culture, music, and traditional recreational activities
- Outgoing, compassionate, and skilled at creating a welcoming environment that encourages resident involvement and participation
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience as an Activity Aide in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Intermediate Care Facility (ICF), or Assisted Living Facility (ALF) is strongly preferred
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) or patient documentation systems is preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging group events, ranging from fitness and games to music and arts
- Lead stimulating individual cognitive and memory retention activities for our long-term residents
- Maintain accurate documentation in PointClickCare (EMR system)
- Collaborate with our health care teams to individualize your approach
- May be asked to drive and/or escort residents to off-site events, appointments or activities utilizing our facility van
