About The Position
The Terrace is a skilled nursing facility dedicated to caring for older adults who require extra support, including those recovering from surgery or illness, and long-term residents with Alzheimer’s or memory loss. The facility emphasizes that every team member contributes to the dignity, comfort, and connection of its residents. The role of an Activity Aide is crucial for the emotional well-being of patients, involving them in therapeutic engagement programs. This includes life enrichment activities and various entertainment options to support their recovery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports, culture, music, and traditional recreational activities to bring joy, structure, and stimulation to residents.
Requirements
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- If assigned transport (driving) responsibilities, must maintain a valid driver’s license and meet the organization’s motor vehicle record and insurance eligibility requirements
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience as an Activity Aide in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Intermediate Care Facility (ICF), or Assisted Living Facility (ALF) is strongly preferred
- The ideal candidate is outgoing, compassionate, and skilled at creating a welcoming environment that encourages resident involvement and participation
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) or patient documentation systems is preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging group events, ranging from fitness and games to music and arts
- Lead stimulating individual cognitive and memory retention activities for our long-term residents
- Maintain accurate documentation in PointClickCare (EMR system)
- Collaborate with our health care teams to individualize your approach
- You may be asked to drive and/or escort residents to off-site events, appointments or activities utilizing our facility van
