About The Position

At Morningstar Living in Nazareth, PA—a premier senior living community serving the region since 1988—our Activities Manager leads engaging, person-centered programs that bring energy, connection, and purpose to residents’ daily lives. This is a Full-time opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working with a supportive, well-established team. The primary purpose of the Activities Manager is to be responsible and accountable for the leadership and management of recreation, neighborhood programs, and specialized dementia programs appropriate to the needs and interests of each resident in Health & Wellness and Personal Care. This manager will coordinate the planning, development, implementation, and promotion of Personal Care and Health & Wellness recreation, fitness, and entertainment programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Activity Director Certified (ADC), Certified Therapeutic Recreation Therapist (CTRS), or Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) certification preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience coordinating activities in a long-term care community. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license to safely drive small facility vans, cars, or minivan for resident outings.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Proven ability to effectively train, supervise, and support team members and volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Must follow standards of practice and code of conduct as outlined through the National Certification Council for Activities Professionals (NCCAP)
  • Participate in local, state or national professional activities groups.
  • Oversee a comprehensive Activities program to meet social, spiritual, intellectual, creative, physical, and emotional needs of the resident population.
  • Ensure activities monthly calendar and resident council minutes are posted in visible locations around the community.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, selection, training, coaching, and termination of team members according to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of neighborhood socials, special events, outings, and educational programs as required.
  • Oversee the scheduling of Activity Coordinators , ensuring appropriate coverage.
  • Participate in the budget planning process, maintains staffing ratios, tracks expenses, and capital expenditures.
