AMIkids WINGS Piedmont is a female-only residential program with a 20-bed capacity, serving adolescent girls. The program is designed to address the unique needs of girls in the juvenile justice system, recognizing that they often have mental health challenges, histories of trauma, and have experienced abuse. The Activities Instructor is responsible for implementing and coordinating experiential and recreational instruction for students, including indoor, outdoor, and off-site activities. This role involves supervising student activities, teaching and coaching assigned activities, maintaining activity plans, and ensuring appropriate materials and equipment are available. The instructor will also evaluate students' knowledge and abilities, maintain records of progress, and ensure all relevant certifications are current. Safety, supervision, advising, counseling, and role modeling for students are key aspects of this position, along with adherence to all contract and state educational guidelines. The role may also involve participation in day trips, special activities, facility maintenance, and student transportation.
