About The Position

The Waterford at Shavano Park, a premier retirement community in San Antonio, Texas, provides quality care to residents in an ASSISTED LIVING and MEMORY CARE community. This role involves planning, scheduling, and implementing activities for residents, identifying and accommodating their special needs, and integrating them with the community. The position also focuses on creating a positive image for the community through various outreach and promotional activities.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field
Two years activities management experience

Nice To Haves

certification as an Activity Professional preferred

Responsibilities

Plans, schedules, and implements activities, for a seven-day week calendar.
Identifies the special needs of each resident and creates a plan to accommodate those needs.
Involves the resident in planning recreation objectives and goals for the resident.
Integrates resident with the communality through facility activities and outings.
Creates a strong positive image and establishes good relationships within the community, which may include press relations, promotional activities, scrapbooks, and displays in the facility.
