About The Position

Woodland Heights in Little Rock, AR is looking for an Activities Coordinator to join their team! The Activities Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and operation of the Lifestyle programs at the community. Responsible for promoting a healthy, activity-enriched lifestyle for residents & staff and for ensuring the programming meets the interest, and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident. The Activities Coordinator is responsible for planning, preparing, and directing the overall operation of the resident and family activities.

Requirements

  • Development, implementation, and operation of Lifestyle programs.
  • Promoting a healthy, activity-enriched lifestyle for residents & staff.
  • Ensuring programming meets the interest, and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.
  • Planning, preparing, and directing the overall operation of resident and family activities.
  • Overseeing transportation of residents.
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, motivating, and supervising department staff.
  • Developing and training volunteers.
  • Managing the department within budgetary guidelines.
  • Tracking inventory and ordering supplies.
  • Understanding and fulfilling all State, Federal and local regulations for maintaining safe vehicles, securing all required credentials/licensing for vehicle(s) a driver(s).
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Complying with Senior Living standards and regulations.
  • Displaying a positive and professional image.
  • Representing Senior Living principles and core values daily.
  • Capturing useful data related to programs and services.
  • Providing monthly reporting regarding attendance and other metrics for all programs.

Responsibilities

  • Create an environment in the community that promotes residents and families' participation in the provided activities.
  • Create and submit a monthly calendar of events for review and printing.
  • Create and submit a monthly newsletter for residents, staff, and families.
  • Create and maintain social media under the umbrella of Senior Living.
  • Coordinate with other associates the planning, execution, and attending special functions, such as holidays and celebratory events.
  • Conduct a survey of residents to determine what activities are of interest to them.
  • Overseeing transportation of residents including assisting with safe loading, unloading, seating, and transporting residents onto and off community vehicles and driving residents as needed.
  • Oversee scheduling of transportation for recreational and medical outings.
  • Evaluate transportation program on a regular basis to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Recruit, hire, train, motivate, and supervise department staff in accordance with all company policies, procedures, and core values.
  • Develop and train volunteers who are in the community to assist with activities or special events.
  • Survey residents to determine their satisfaction levels with programs and services provided and make corrections, as necessary.
  • Manage the department within budgetary guidelines, track inventory, and order supplies.
  • Understand and fulfill all State, Federal and local regulations for maintaining safe vehicles, securing all required credentials/licensing for vehicle(s) a driver(s).
  • Encourage and invite resident participation in all resident activities.
  • Alert care staff when there is a medical or care need of a resident that needs to be addressed.
  • Look for ways to reduce costs and create efficiency daily.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and report any issues or concerns immediately.
  • Comply with Senior Living standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient community operations.
  • Display a positive and professional image through actions and maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform or clothing and name tag when working.
  • Represent the Senor Living principles and core values daily.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or required.
  • Effectively communicate Senior Living vision of lifestyle living by sharing program outcomes, as well as program changes and updates throughout the community.
  • Collaborates with sales to cultivate the program brand; communicate frequently on opportunities to tell the story of how prospects can live well at Senior Living.
  • Creates and implements an approach to capturing useful data related to programs and services; provides monthly reporting regarding attendance and other metrics for all programs.
