The Activities Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and updating resident activities, ensuring the accuracy of the daily schedule, class, and time. This role involves assisting in the planning, leading, and scheduling of events for resident activities. In cooperation with the resident treatment team, the coordinator will coordinate activities with residents to provide a safe and therapeutic environment. The position facilitates and enhances therapeutic treatment and quality of life through the promotion and coordination of teamwork. The coordinator will provide and implement age and comprehension-appropriate programs to individual residents and groups to improve or maintain physical functioning and social interaction skills. Responsibilities include observing and documenting pertinent information regarding residents’ condition and treatment progress, attending meetings to contribute information and progress reports for treatment team planning, and utilizing various resources to implement recreation, relaxation, arts, music, yoga, and adult living skills. The role also requires completing an individual activity assessment weekly for each patient, planning and executing a variety of resident activities daily, and consulting with each resident to identify their social and recreational requirements based on their likes/dislikes, abilities, and personal preferences. A key responsibility is ensuring the social care plan for each resident is in place within 3 days of admission and is regularly reviewed and updated, as well as ensuring all residents receive some form of social activity each week. The Activities Coordinator reports to a licensed supervisor.
