About The Position

The Activities Attendant plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals by organizing, facilitating, and supervising a variety of recreational and social activities. This position is focused on creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where participants can enjoy meaningful experiences that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The Activities Attendant collaborates closely with other staff members to tailor activities that meet the diverse interests and abilities of participants. Through attentive observation and interaction, the attendant ensures that all activities are conducted smoothly and that participants receive appropriate support and encouragement. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to fostering a positive community atmosphere and improving overall participant satisfaction.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience working with diverse populations in a recreational or lodging and accommodation setting.
Basic knowledge of safety and emergency procedures.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods and assist participants physically when needed.

Nice To Haves

Certification in CPR and First Aid.
Experience working with elderly, children, or individuals with disabilities.
Ability to execute creative and adaptive activity plans.
Bilingual skills or proficiency in additional languages.

Responsibilities

Facilitate daily recreational activities tailored to the interests and needs of participants.
Monitor participant engagement and safety during activities, providing assistance and modifications as necessary.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, activity outcomes, and any incidents or concerns.
Prepare and organize materials and equipment required for activities, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
