About The Position
Visalia Post Acute is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and creative Activities Assistant to join our team! If you enjoy working with seniors and creating meaningful experiences that enhance residents’ quality of life, we would love to meet you.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Creative, energetic, and compassionate approach to resident care
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice To Haves
- One year of long-term care experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and conducting individual, small group, and large group activities
- Encourage resident participation in activities, hobbies, crafts, games, and reading
- Assist with resident outings and transportation coordination as needed
- Help develop and maintain monthly activity calendars and attendance records
- Provide in-room activities for residents who are bed-bound or isolated
- Assist with activity assessments, care plans, and quarterly progress notes
- Participate in resident care planning and discharge planning processes
- Maintain positive communication with residents, families, staff, and visitors
- Assist with Quality Assurance and activity program improvement initiatives
- Maintain the Activity Department in a clean, organized, and secure manner
- Promote a warm, engaging, and resident-centered environment
