Activities Assistant
About The Position
The Village at Penn State, located in State College, PA, is one of the area’s premiere senior living communities and is currently hiring for a Part Time, Benefit Eligible Activities Aide position. This role is within the community life department for the Atrium skilled health center. The Activities Assistant will encourage and assist residents with meaningful events to help fill their leisure time, including daily opportunities for developing friendships, personal growth, and continuing lifelong learning. The position also offers expertise and guidance to all staff to grow in the field of community life, helping improve the quality of life for all residents.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Eligible for Helping Hands certification.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in social or recreational programming with senior citizens or in a health care setting.
Responsibilities
- Assists staff with planning and carrying out resident activities, trips and events, as planned.
- Encourage and assist residents with meaningful events to help fill their leisure time, including daily opportunities for developing friendships, personal growth, and continuing lifelong learning.
- Offer expertise and guidance to all staff to grow in the field of community life, helping improve the quality of life for all residents.
