Activities Assistant - Weekends Only
About The Position
Join The Ivy of McKinney as a Part-Time Activities Assistant (weekends only) and make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors every day. In this onsite role, you will help create a positive, engaging, and supportive environment for residents by planning and leading activities that promote social connection, cognitive stimulation, physical activity, and emotional well-being. We are looking for a compassionate, creative, and energetic team member who enjoys working with older adults, especially in a memory care or senior living setting. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in activities, life enrichment, resident engagement, dementia care, assisted living, or senior care careers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to work weekends
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stay active throughout the day
- Creative, patient, and compassionate approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with seniors preferred, especially in memory care, assisted living, or senior living
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and leading daily activities for residents
- Support games, crafts, music, events, and wellness programs
- Encourage resident participation and engagement
- Adapt activities for seniors with memory loss or cognitive impairment
- Set up and clean up activity spaces and supplies
- Work closely with staff to create meaningful resident experiences
