About The Position

The Courville at Manchester is a Senior Healthcare Community seeking an energetic, creative Full-time Activities Assistant to enrich the lives of its residents. This role involves planning and implementing resident activities, providing social and emotional support, and ensuring resident safety. The position requires a positive, upbeat attitude, self-motivation, and organizational skills. The daily activities are varied and based on resident desires, making each day different. Flexibility is crucial, as is the ability to work cooperatively with other departments and assist in emergent situations. The ideal candidate will be a team player with good communication skills and the ability to pass a physical examination.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
  • Meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which include a medical and physical examination
  • Be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times, hostile people within the community

Nice To Haves

  • LNA license or interest in getting an LNA license
  • Experience working in a skilled nursing environment is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Enthusiastically run daily activities that engage our residents
  • Develop new activities that appeal to the different interests of our residents
  • Safely transport residents to and from activities
  • Observe the status of residents regarding physical, emotional, social and spiritual health and report all changes in status to nursing staff
  • Observe resident's rights
  • Assist in evacuation of residents in an emergency
  • Report to work as scheduled and demonstrate dependability and punctuality
  • Work cooperatively/assist with other departments
  • Represent the facility to family and community events
  • Attend in-services, as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
