About The Position

This is a full-time position in the Avita of Stroudwater Activities Day Program, operating Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. This is a set schedule, and modifications cannot be made. The role involves working with the Engagement Director to enhance residents' lives through fun and engaging activities that cater to their physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being, making the community vibrant and lively. The Engagement Team is central to bringing purpose and joy to the community.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Love connecting with seniors and naturally get along with them.
Be creative and able to plan and lead activities that suit different interests and abilities.
Organize things well and pay attention to details.
Communicate effectively and be kind.
Be flexible to work different shifts, including weekends and evenings.
Know basic computer skills for documenting and communicating.
Criminal Background Screening required.
Reliable Transportation required.
Clean Driving Record required.
Dependability required.
Must LOVE spending time with seniors.
Must be comfortable with individuals with memory impairment.
Must be reliable/dependable, and want to make a difference in the lives of our residents!

Nice To Haves

Some classes in recreation, gerontology, or related areas are a plus.

Responsibilities

Work with the Engagement Director to plan and run a variety of activities, such as exercise programs, interesting sessions, art projects, trips, spiritual gatherings, and events with speakers and music.
Connect with residents personally, understanding their preferences and needs to ensure activities are enjoyable and meaningful.
Help plan trips outside the community, organizing details, and ensuring residents are safe and happy.
Create a warm and inclusive environment where residents can make friends and discover new interests.
Keep records of resident participation and feedback to help improve programs.
Share creative ideas to keep programs exciting and aligned with senior interests.
