About The Position
Regina Health Center is seeking a full-time Activities Assistant to support activity programs for skilled nursing, dementia, and assisted living residents. The role involves conducting individual and group activities to provide meaningful engagement. The position requires computer proficiency, creativity, and a genuine passion for caring for elderly individuals. Previous experience in a nursing home or assisted living setting, knowledge of dementia care, and strong communication skills are preferred.
Requirements
- Computer proficiency and ability to learn new computer programs.
- Creativity is a must.
- A genuine passion for providing care and support to elderly individuals.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with residents.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate various activity times.
- HS Diploma or GED.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a nursing home or assisted living setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices and aging issues is highly desirable.
- Experience in event planning or organizing group activities is a plus.
- Activities experience in long-term care preferred.
- Experience working with those living with dementia.
