About The Position

The Activities Assistant assists the Activity Coordinator in planning and carrying out the Hale Ho Aloha resident activities program. The role supports group and bedside activities for residents, including entertainment, exercise, celebrations, and other scheduled programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work with aged and disabled residents while demonstrating patience, understanding, and compassion.
• Physical exam completed within the past year.
• Two-step TB test followed by a one-step TB test, completed within the past year.
• Must work weekends.

Responsibilities

• Conduct reality orientations, music therapy, and sing-along group activities.
• Assist with scheduled birthdays, outings, and special-event celebrations.
• Prepare and arrange chairs and tables before activities, including Bible readings, church services, and parties.
• Attend programs and keep residents occupied before and after them through singing and physical therapy exercises.
• Conduct bedside activities for residents, including games and music, and participate in weekly resident care plan meetings.
• Operate and show movies using audio/visual equipment.
