Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused approach to care
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred
- Prior experience as an Activities Aide or within recreation programming is highly desirable
- CPR certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Facilitate group and individual activities that promote resident engagement and enjoyment
- Provide one-on-one activities for residents who are unable to participate in group programs
- Encourage resident participation and help foster a welcoming, inclusive environment
- Assist with games, crafts, music programs, special events, celebrations, and community outings
- Adapt activities to meet residents' cognitive, emotional, and physical abilities
- Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members to support resident needs
- Assist with the creation and distribution of monthly activity calendars
- Maintain activity areas in a clean, organized, and safe manner
- Monitor and report safety concerns, equipment needs, or maintenance issues
- Support the department in creating memorable experiences that enhance residents' quality of life
