This role assists in developing resident activity programs, conducting activities in accordance with the Life Enrichment Coordinator's direction, and ensuring duties are performed in compliance with federal and state regulations and company policies. Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 6 months of experience preferred.
• Awareness of special needs and dimensions of wellness for older adults.
• Skills to engage residents with different interests and abilities.
• Sensitivity to residents’ feelings and well-being.
• Ability to initiate and lead crafts, games, discussions and other activities.
• Ability to find and implement resources for Life Enrichment activity programs.
• Computer skills and adaptability to new technology.
• Enjoy working with senior adults.
• Exercise judgment, display empathy, creative skills, imagination, friendliness, resourcefulness, enthusiasm, and have a caring attitude and sincere interest in others.
• Must have a clean driving record through the DMV.
• Minimum of 25 years old to operate the bus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing programs for Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care resident group and individual activities based on residents' individualized needs.
• Maintain a balance of recreational activities and facilitate group activities, 1-1 visits, and community events.
• Help coordinate scheduled activities with other departments.
• Communicate residents’ programs to residents, families, volunteers, and community staff.
• Assist in preparing monthly Life Enrichment calendars that reflect residents’ interests, preferences, and abilities.
• Organize activity supplies and equipment.
• Prepare monthly reports on the progress of the activity program.
• Invite and assist residents to and from activities.
• Participate in trainings as requested by administration.
• Recognize resident's change in condition that could require nursing intervention and report to the Wellness Director immediately.
• Maintain professional appearance, communication, and confidentiality.
• Supervise volunteers as necessary.
• May assist residents on outings, which may include driving company vehicles.
