About The Position

At Spring Arbor of Florence, the Activities Assistant (Lifestyle Assistant) is responsible for making every day feel like a celebration for seniors. This role is for someone energetic, creative, and passionate about brightening the lives of seniors. It's described as more than a job, but a calling for someone who loves people, thinks outside the box, and genuinely lights up when they walk into a room. The position is part-time with flexible scheduling, offering 8-34 hours per week on the 1st shift during daytime hours. No license or prior experience is required, emphasizing the importance of heart, hustle, and a love for seniors. The team is described as the heartbeat of daily life, and the company is willing to train the right person.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or 21 to drive the company bus.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license or Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) for the state where the vehicle is operated.
  • Must possess high energy/enthusiasm, decision making, problem solving, planning/organization, and rapport building skills.
  • Must have positive Criminal Background Screening.
  • Must have an acceptable Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) record; the record must be checked annually.
  • Adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one (1) year of related experience at an independent living, assisted living, or senior nursing facility preferred.
  • Appropriate CDL license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead engaging, meaningful activities for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents.
  • Create moments of joy, laughter, and connection every day.
  • Bring creativity and enthusiasm to programs that celebrate residents' lives and interests.
  • Be the energy that makes Spring Arbor of Florence feel like home.
  • Assist the Lifestyle Director in conducting and coordinating scheduled activities seven days a week for all residents.
  • Assist in preparing the monthly Lifestyle calendar, posting the calendar, and distributing it to all residents.
  • Facilitate and support monthly resident council meetings and other resident meetings as directed by the Lifestyle Director.
  • Assist the Lifestyle Director in contacting appropriate community groups and volunteers to perform specific activities and to assist in the Lifestyle programs.
  • Assist in scheduling transportation for residents.
  • Be prepared to drive the property vehicles on an as needed basis.
  • Assessing residents’ social and lifestyle activity preferences.
  • Other job duties assigned.
