About The Position

Amber Grove Place, a Memory Care Community in Chico, CA, is seeking an Activities Assistant to join their team. This part-time role focuses on providing life-enriching activities to residents with Dementia, Alzheimer's, and MCI. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors and making a difference in their lives, enjoying activities such as games, arts & crafts, music, animal visits, and entertainers.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
• Health evaluation to ensure ability to perform job duties.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, co-workers, and the general public verbally and in writing.
• Good attitude, ability to work a set schedule.

Nice To Haves

• High school education preferred, but not required.
• Prior Activities experience in senior care or child development preferred, not required.
• Enjoy working with seniors and a passion for enriching their lives.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing an ongoing program of activities for residents with Dementia, Alzheimer's and MCI (mild cognitive impairment) under general supervision.
• Work with other departments as they relate to the physical, emotional and social needs of individual residents.
• Assist with and support community volunteers, scheduled entertainers, resident visitors, and other employees.
• Assist with loading and unloading residents onto the activities bus.
• Take the lead in scheduled activities to keep residents' minds, bodies, and spirits functioning.
