Part-Time Activities Assistant
About The Position
Apostolic Christian Restmor is looking for a part-time Activities Assistant to join their team at their beautiful facility in Morton, IL. The role focuses on providing the highest quality care to residents by implementing activity services tailored to their social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual needs. This includes planning, leading, and evaluating programs, sometimes with a focus on personal care activities like foot soaks, nail care, hair care, and bathing. The assistant will also be responsible for maintaining activity areas, tracking resident attendance, contributing to resident care plans, assisting residents to and from activities, communicating with other departments, supervising volunteers, providing one-to-one interventions, and designing/upkeeping informational displays.
Requirements
- General working knowledge of computers
- High energy level; expressing leadership characteristics and the ability to work independently
- Positive attitude and caring approach required
- Must express a team-oriented attitude
- High level of organization required
- Must be available to work 3:00pm-9:00pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays, as well as every other weekend and a holiday rotation.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with or exposure to individuals with cognitive or functional deficits preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Plans, leads, and evaluates assigned programs, at times with a focus on papering activities for residents (ex: foot soaks, nail care, hair care, and bathing)
- Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of activity room, office, and storage areas
- Tracks residents’ attendance at activities
- Participates in the development of resident goals and interventions through assessment and Care Plan process
- Aids residents to and from activity programs both internally and off-site
- Initiates and maintains intra-facility relations and communication
- Provides supervision of volunteers while engaged in activity programs
- Provides one-to-one interventions for residents as assigned or when those residents are in need of on-call attention
- Designs and upkeeps bulletin boards, resident room calendars, and daily sheets
- Other duties as assigned.
