About The Position

Centra Behavioral Health Hospital is a brand-new 72-bed behavioral health facility opening in 2026. We offer high-quality, compassionate care for a wide variety of patients in need. Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institute in recreation related field, preferred.
• Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists and executes with the Activity Therapist or Activity Therapy Coordinator to provide medically approved activity programs including such activities as holiday and special events, social activities, relaxation techniques, music-based interventions, leisure educational games, and expressive arts to assist patients to develop interpersonal relationships, increase motivation, to socialize effectively, and to develop confidence needed to participate in group activities.
• Takes the guidance and supervision of an Activity Therapist or Activity Therapy Coordinator to regulate content of the programs in accordance with patients’ capabilities, needs, interests, and treatment plan.
