About The Position

This role is officially titled an Activities Aide, but may also be known as an Activity Aide, Activities Assistant, or Life Enrichment Coordinator. The primary focus is to keep short-term stay residents engaged in their recovery and rehab, and to provide life enrichment events for long-term residents, often focusing on cognitive and memory retention. Daily activities could include leading exercise groups, playing card games, or reading to residents confined to their rooms. The company emphasizes a family-like atmosphere and a commitment to helping employees excel in their careers through an educational assistance program. Bourbonnais Terrace is a Specialized Mental Health and Rehab Facility (SMHRF) serving the non-aggressive adult mentally ill/behavior health population.

Requirements

Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Computer knowledge.
Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of twenty-five (25) pounds.
Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment physical and criminal history background check.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience as an activity aide in a long-term care facility.
Currently in school to become a Recreational (Rec) Therapist (CTRS).

Responsibilities

Keep short-term stay residents engaged in their recovery and rehab.
