About The Position

The Activities Aide facilitates group programs, assists with resident transportation to and from activities, and helps plan and lead recreation programs. The role also promotes facility programs to residents, staff, families, and volunteers. The position is part-time and located at SHC of Port Royal in Port Royal, South Carolina. Sprenger Health Care is a third-generation developer, owner, and operator of senior living communities and services in Ohio and South Carolina.

Requirements

• High school diploma and at least 2 years of experience in a patient activities program in a health care setting; or a college degree in, or active progress toward a degree in, Recreation, Gerontology, Nursing Home Administration, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• A valid driver’s license is required for the degree or actively-working-toward-a-degree qualification pathway.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate assigned group programs in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assist in transporting residents to and from activities.
• Assist with planning and leadership of recreation programs.
• Promote facility programs to residents, staff, family members, and volunteers.
