The Activities Aide supports resident well-being by helping create meaningful, engaging experiences that promote connection, purpose, and quality of life. This role works closely with the care team to ensure activities are inclusive, resident-centered, and aligned with individual needs and interests. Requirements
- National Certification Council for Activity Professionals Certification (NCCAP) preferred or training to be completed within first year of hire.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting or related field (preferred)
- Experience with Point Click Care or similar software (preferred)
- CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A team-focused mindset with the ability to work independently when needed
- Comfort using computers, including Microsoft Office, and learning new systems
- Understanding of confidentiality laws, including HIPAA
- A commitment to professionalism, integrity, kindness, and empathy
- Genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
Responsibilities
- Completing assessments related to residents’ physical abilities, cognitive function, and personal interests
- Designing and facilitating engaging activities for individuals and groups with varying abilities
- Supporting personalized activity programs that promote participation and enjoyment
- Completing Activity Department sections of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) and Care Area Assessments (CAAs)
- Documenting assessments and progress notes accurately and on schedule
- Collaborating with nursing and other departments to ensure activities run smoothly
- Assisting with the Volunteer Program as directed
- Maintaining consistent, reliable attendance as scheduled
