Activities Aide - Rehabilitation Services
About The Position
Reporting to the Manager and working under the direction of the Recreation Therapist, the Activities Aide is a member of the healthcare team, who works cooperatively and collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to enhance the quality of everyday lives of the residents of Bayview Memorial Health Centre. Responsibilities include daily collaboration with the Charge Nurse in the delivery of patient activity plans as written by the Recreational Therapist and other programs/activities. The Activities Aide contributes to the care plan by communicating with the interdisciplinary team any feedback or observations discovered while carrying out these activities.
Requirements
- Grade 12 education required
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Must be able to take direction and work as part of a team
Nice To Haves
- Previous Recreation Therapy experience preferred
- Passion for event planning
- Previous experience working with seniors
- Dementia education is an asset
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Responsibilities
