About The Position

Redeemer Senior Living in Minneapolis is hiring a Part-Time Activities Aide to join our team. In this role, you will help conduct fun and exciting activities with our residents as well as assist with clerical needs such as mail delivery. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated with a genuine concern for our residents’ well-being, and has a creative personality and positive attitude. Redeemer Health Care Center is a 119-bed, non-profit senior community that since 1946, has provided housing, health care, and community-based services to older generations and has helped residents live the lives that most inspire them. Our newly remodeled community is in Minneapolis near Uptown and offers many services including Skilled Nursing, TCU and Memory Care. Requirements

  • Applicants must qualify for Federal or State Work Study
  • Must provide own transportation to the site
  • Demonstrate good time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to display enthusiasm and a positive attitude in promoting activities.
  • Creative aptitude for training in arts, crafts, and games.
  • Good communication skills, including ability to give directions to others in a manner that is pleasant and easily understood.
  • Must be flexible and willing to learn.

Nice To Haves

  • Therapeutic Recreation related classes preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and directs activity programs with residents of the Skilled Nursing Campus
  • Develop and Assess resident activity needs by completing activity assessments, progress notes and care planning
  • Interact and assist residents on a one to one basis outside of structured program times.
  • Document activity attendance and degree of involvement.
  • Act as a positive representative at all times.
  • Display an attitude of courtesy and respect for all residents, families, and staff.
  • Perform other related tasks as needed.
