About The Position

As an Active Directory Engineer, you will be joining the Identity Directory & Tools team within the Identity & Remote Access group. You will provide subject matter expertise for critical Enterprise services as well as projects and initiatives as they relate to the design, implementation, and support of major infrastructure technology as well as implementation of automated solutions for existing and new processes. You’ll support end-to-end project implementation. You’ll collaborate with a diverse team to create and build flexible, innovative solutions that deliver a best-in-class client experience. You'll build and maintain a strong relationship with Information Security and other technology, architecture, and solutions teams across CIBC. The Identity Directory & Tools team is accountable for the Engineering and Operational Support of CIBC’s Enterprise Identity infrastructure. This includes services such as Active Directory. You will provide subject matter expertise and 3rd level of Engineering and operational support for services within our portfolio, implement automation capabilities for new and existing processes, and will have in-depth knowledge and experience building, deploying, supporting, and automating Active Directory, as this is the initial areas of focus for this role. The selected candidate will also provide consulting and support for other services and project work as needed. This role requires the successful candidate to periodically work outside of normal business hours to assist with implementations and to provide L3 support as needed and we also offer the flexibility to work remotely and onsite. Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in designing, building, implementing, and supporting Active Directory.
  • Understand core Active Directory services in depth, including domain services, Group Policy, domain controller management, replication, DNS integration, authentication, and security hardening.
  • Expertise with Active Directory-related 3rd party tools for monitoring/logging/security.
  • Expertise with PowerShell.
  • Experience with Recovery and Backup tools.
  • Experience creating scripts.
  • Experience building automation using PowerShell.
  • Experience in Active Directory Support and Engineering roles.
  • Experience producing strong technical documentation.
  • Experience in a variety of roles/teams including, but not limited to, operations, Engineering, architecture & security.
  • Ability to build healthy working relationships and partnerships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Experience and knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for anticipating, recognizing, and resolving complex technical problems.

  • Manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, using effective judgment in prioritizing and time allocation.
  • Design, develop and test Active Directory infrastructure solutions.
  • Assess, design and implement automation for new and existing processes.
  • Provide senior-level consulting in identifying and solving complex and highly critical issues, engaging vendors when necessary.
  • Lead remediation efforts for critical issues and vulnerabilities across multiple services & platforms utilizing automation, working closely and fostering close relationships with our Information Security partners.
  • Analyze data and services to identify opportunities for improvement in functionality, quality, and validity, and recommend solutions that may cross multiple teams, functions, processes, and platforms.
